Author | Professor | Organizer | Philanthropist Born in East, Texas, Professor Carlos Wallace is a 5th generation railroader and Navy veteran. A member of the American Legion, he is also a graduate of the National Labor College and Union Pacific’s elite Brakeman/Conductor school. The International Organizer helped run several political campaigns including that of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama. The Adjunct Professor at Lone Star College-University Park and member of the Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology, ranks among Houston's top education advocates and philanthropists. He follows in the footsteps of his late mother Alice Wallace (an educator and coach). Wallace advances her academic principles by providing financial assistance to students through the Alice Wallace Foundation. Wallace is also President and CEO of entertainment and philanthropy company, Sol-Caritas. Sol has produced a series of multi-city tours and events featuring stand-up comics and entertainers from Houston, Dallas, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The company is the only Houston-based entertainment enterprise to produce over 180 comedy and poetry shows, sell more than 95, 000 tickets and donate generously to over 85 non-profit local and internationally recognized charities, including Covenant House, the American Diabetes Association, Haiti Relief, the American Cancer Society, and Lupus Foundation of America.
